I'm a little concerned that the primary thread of the show is getting lost as we get to know these characters though. It seems as if we'll keep getting character background woven into the real world. I wasn't sure how they would continue to cut the fairy tale world and the real streets of Storybrooke together. I can't wait to learn more about her past as Snow White and find out just what she did to the Queen. She has just the right chemistry with Prince Charming, her daughter (Emma), and with Regina. She switches between the sweet and seemingly vulnerable Mary Margaret to the mischievous Snow White without missing a beat. As Regina says, "Not having someone, that's the worst curse imaginable." Everyone delivered solid performances, but as I mentioned before, Goodwin stole the show. She finds the wife of John Doe (it's the woman from the carriage in fairy tale world), and she obviously takes pleasure in Mary Margaret's sadness at being split apart from him. Regina does what she's best at and meddles. Sure, it was predictable, but it was also really sweet. When John Doe goes missing, they find him at Toll Bridge and a kiss from Mary Margaret saves him from drowning.
In Storybrooke, Henry realized the comatose John Doe in the hospital was Prince Charming and Mary Margaret got a big surprise when he reacted and grabbed her hand while being read, of course, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. They save each other's lives during the encounter, and it ends with the Prince getting his ring back. Yes, those kinds of trolls they even live under a bridge. She takes the Prince to visit trolls to get the jewels back. She's done something wrong, and she's on the run and trying to survive. I like that she's not an innocent, doe-eyed girl. He threatens to turn her in, and Snow White admits she ruined the Queen's life. The Prince convinces Snow White to at least give back the jewels she stole because he needs a ring for his fiancée. The Prince and Snow White instantly connect Goodwin and Dallas hit a perfect rhythm every time they share the screen. The same Snow White who is wanted by the Queen and has a price on her head. The Prince gives chase and learns that the thief is none other than Snow White. They are attacked and robbed by a lone assailant. Prince Charming ( Josh Dallas), whose name is actually James, is traveling in a carriage down the road with an unhappy female companion. Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow White/Mary Margaret) knocks this episode over the river and through the woods. She's more than a shiny princess, and she's definitely not delicate. Her background isn't what you would expect it to be, and the perfect twist gives her depth. This week's episode focused on Snow White.
